Water, kitchens and bathrooms

During our dry season water tables drop and several of the schools have a limited or no water supply. We are currently building a water storage facility in Esperanza. We hope to have drinking water available at all the schools by the end of 2007. Although difficult to imagine, meals in some of the schools are still prepared in open fire kitchens. Several of these areas present not only a serious fire hazard, but the unsanitary conditions are a potential health risk. The construction of water supply systems, kitchens, cafeterias, sinks, drinking fountains and bathrooms is one of our greatest priorities.
