Visiting Teachers

Do you have a background in education? Do you love to travel and experience new cultures? Do you speak Spanish? The schools in Nosara are in need of people like you.

Projecto Ninos is pleased to announce our Volunteer Teacher Program.  We are seeking qualified candidates from a variety of backgrounds to come to Costa Rica and volunteer their time and efforts for one to several months.  Ideal teachers will be bilingual English/Spanish speakers with some sort of educational training and/or experience.  School hours vary but average from 7 A.M. until noon depending on the particular campus.  Volunteers will be in the classroom providing hands-on lessons to students and assisting teachers.

Visiting teachers are a valuable addition to a student’s education; they bring different experiences, stories, and abilities into the classroom. These new additions will expand the children’s scope of learning, furthering their education and helping them grow. Our hope is for you to foster an appreciation for these young minds and this unique setting and for the students to grow and be enriched by your presence.

There are beautiful beaches all around with jungles, rivers, and waterfalls to explore.  As you enjoy the world-class surfing, the exotic fishing, or even the relaxed horseback excursions, there are amazing communities to become involved in.  The possibilities are endless, and we know that your efforts will be rewarded greatly.  Opportunities are available year-round except for December and January when the schools break for their summer vacation. Take your summer break or any school vacation and spend it in paradise. We are looking for teachers with specialties in teaching English as a Second Language, drama, computers, science and math. If you would like to donate your time, please contact us at info@projectoninos.org.
